<br />盛岡の大通商店街の情報収集を行った。

<p><br />昼食は、じゃんじゃんで、
<br />餃子とじゃじゃめんを食べた。
<br />美味い！

<p><br />午後は、膝が痛かったので、
<br />開運の湯にある、プルガマで遠赤外線のシャワーを浴びた。
<br />入浴前：　75.8kg
<br />入浴後：　74.8kg
<br />1kgほど体重が減っていた。
<br />喜盛の湯の方が安いということで人気があるようですが、
<br />施設内での飲料水の購入を考えると、
<br />どちらも同じ様な金額になります。

I&#39;ve been reading about this place forever and every attempt to eat here has driven me elsewhere or to <a href="http://annwhatever.vox.com/library/post/mr-ramen-in-little-tokyo.html">Mr. Ramen</a>, home for waiting-in-long-line quitters. This time I had Him by my side and He wouldn&#39;t let me quit. So, we shivered in the autumn wind, huddling close to the glow behind Daikokuya&#39;s famous yellow awning with hopes of eating a warm bowl of ramen.</p><p>Standing outside we, well I, had the chance to thoroughly read the menu and decide on our orders. We were getting the ramen,&#160; gyoza for me, fried rice and sausages for him. The gyoza made me curious - they were rectangle and not the cresent shape I grew up with. Must. Have. Instead of gyoza a plate of green onions came out with a garnish of gyoza. There was so much green onion, I brushed them aside to save them for my ramen. I thought the gyoza and sauce was pretty weak. I&#39;m used to more ginger in the dumpling filling and the ponzu sauce wasn&#39;t as citrusy. They were fried nicely though, so not a total fail.</p><p>The sausages (really hot dogs) were very tasty with the mustard on the side. Not cut into <a href="http://www.octodog.net/">octo-dogs</a>, but that&#39;s okay. I&#39;ve never had Japanese fried rice. It just tasted like fried rice. From where we were seated we got a great view into the tiny gally kitchen. It was cool to watch the cooks dance around each other in a flurry,hustling to get our order out. I noticed one guy at the wok and I knew he was making the fried rice order. Another guy was stirring a large stock pot with the ramen soup base in it. He was obviously preparing our Daikoku ramen.

Finally our ramen arrived. I turned mine into negi (green onion) ramen by adding all that green onion from the gyoza to the soup. Maybe I&#39;m just so used to Santouka&#39;s strong soup, but I found Daikoku&#39;s soup rather lite in flavor. But it might also be because Daikoku&#39;s ramen is soy sauce and pork flavored. At Santouka you can pick from salt, soy, or miso flavors. I really loved that Daikoku&#39;s ramen includes an egg. It was soft boiled, so the yolk was slightly runny inside.         <p>今日は、酸っぱいものが食べたくてカリフラワーのピクルスを作ってみました。</p>

先ずは、カリフラワーを一口サイズに切り塩をかけておきます。</p>

<p>米酢を煮立て塩等の調味料で味を整えた物と、カリフラワーを合わせアラ熱をとり冷蔵庫で冷やした食べられます。</p>

        <p>今月でまたひとつ歳をとりました。今年も無事に歳を重ねることができたことに感謝です（いや，今年前半はマジにヤバかったけどさ）。この歳になっても歳をとることが嬉しいと思えるのは，祝ってくれる人たちがいるからでしょうね。本当にありがたいことです。</p><p>ちうわけで，お誕生日祝いにちゃんこを奢ってもらうことになりました。場所は「<a href="http://www.chanko-waka.jp/">Chanko Dining若</a>」。広島にもあるんですよ，ぢつわ。オープン当時はちょっとお高い店ということで評判だったけど，不況の風はここでも吹いているのか，最近はそんなでも無いらしいです。今回通してもらった個室も以前は VIP ルームとして使われていたらしいけど， VIP ルームに通された人が飲み放題コースとか頼まんわな普通（笑）。</p><p>5人で集まることになってたけど，うち3人が1時間以上も遅刻という事態。残る（私を含めた）2人は残り時間を気にしながらちびちびやってたけど，我慢できずにメインの鍋へ突入。5人前の鍋を2人で平らげようとしていたまさにそのときに遅刻組が登場したのでした。以降は（制限時間が迫る中）怒涛の注文で「おまいらそんなに食えるんか」とか呆れつつも，きっちり全部平らげたのは見事でした。まぁ値段のわりに量が少ないってものあったけどね。鍋も塩と味噌の両方がいただけたので満足。</p><p>いや，堪能しました。また遊んでやってください。</p>   <p style="clear:both;">

        <p>前回作った　<strong>『グリーントマトのチャツネ』＊</strong>が思った以上に美味しく、評判がよかったので、今回は　『かぼちゃのチャツネ』を作ってみました。</p>
<p>レシピは、『グリーントマトのチャツネ』の講習会の時頂いたレシピに一緒に載っていたものですが、味を考えて少し変えて使いました。</p>
<p>材料は、</p>
<p>かぼちゃ1.2ｋｇ（<strong>バターナッツ＊</strong>を使用）、紅玉750g、しょうが75g、鷹の爪4本、リンゴ酢600ｍｌ、</p>
<p>ブラウンシュガーまたは白砂糖300ｇ、塩小さじ1　です。</p>

<p>②バターナッツがやわらかくなったら（約25分くらい）、砂糖と塩を入れ、とろ火でゆっくり水気がほとんどなくなるまで煮詰めます。（約1時間）</p>
<p>③煮沸消毒したビンに詰め、1ヶ月後に食べられますが、時間がたつほど風味が増すそうです。ふたを開けなければ冷暗所で2年持ちます。　</p>
<p>下のような小ビン（350ml位）3個と大ビン（500ml位）1個分できました。　入りきらなかった1カップ分くらいは少しずつ食べてしまうことにします。</p>

<p>早速、トマトのチャツネと味比べをするつもりで、同じようにリッツの上にクリームチーズを塗り、その上にチャツネを乗せました。</p>
<p>甘酸っぱさの中にジンジャーの香りとトウガラシのピリリとした辛みが効いて、シナモンやクローブのスパイシーな香りがしたトマトのチャツネとは違った美味しさがあります。</p>
<p>色はオレンジマーマレードのようで、綺麗です。1ヶ月後、1年後が楽しみですが、これも1ビン2ビンとふたを開けて食べてしまいそうで、気を付けねば・・・・。&#160;</p>

        <p>大きさも形も洋ナシに似ているハヤトウリ。熱帯アメリカ原産のウリ科の植物ですが、日本には鹿児島に初めて渡ってきたので、「隼人の瓜」ということで「ハヤトウリ」と呼ばれるそうです。</p>
<p>先日　知り合いの農家の方から頂いたのですが、私は見るのも料理するのも初めてです。薄く切って塩もみし、サラダやおひたし、あるいは豚肉などと炒めてもよいと教えてもらいました。&#160;</p>

<p>この種を取って皮ごとスライスして塩もみし、自家製の玉ねぎドレッシング（玉ねぎ・砂糖・塩・酢・サラダオイル・醤油・みりん・酒）で和えてみました。</p>
<p>きゅうりの塩もみよりしゃきしゃきとした歯ざわりがあり、少し若いメロンのような香りで、見た目と共に爽やかな一品となりました。↓&#160;</p>

<p>こちらの方はハヤトウリの香りがなくなり、その分食べやすくなりますが、物足りないかもしれません。私はこちらの方が好きでした。↓&#160;</p>
